What is a Co-operative?

Co-operative businesses are owned and run by and for their members, whether they are customers, employees or residents. Do you have any job vacancies?

Working for Rice Up means being a member and therefore a fellow director of our worker’s co-operative. We also have a fantastic team of volunteers who are giving up their time to help us out whilst the business grows. Can I request a product for Rice Up to stock?

We are always open to new product suggestions and recommendations from our customers providing they fit with our Ethical Policy. Feel free to contact us via our online contact form or pop into the shop and chat to us in person about what you’d like us to order in and we’ll see what we can do!

Do you open bank holidays?

We are currently opening on bank holidays with shorter opening hours. To confirm what time we will be opening and closing during the next bank holiday please contact us or follow us on facebook for our latest updates.

Do you stock products for people with special dietary requirements?

We certainly do! All of our massive range is free from meat, dairy, eggs and other animal products.

We also stock a large selection of gluten free products which are highlighted by our blue ‘No gluten-containing ingredients’ shelf edge labels which can be found throughout the different departments instore including pastas, flours, snacks and cereals. If you have a severe allergy we recommend that you read the packaging of an item before purchasing to confirm any present allergens.

Sugar free products can also be found on our shelves as well as various alternatives to sugar in our baking section.

Don’t forget to check out our fresh food deli counter by the tills - we always have sugar free options as well as baked goods and salads made without any gluten containing ingredients! (Please be aware that although we try our best to avoid any cross contamination in our kitchen, we are unable to have a gluten or nut free preparation area and so cannot guarantee that traces of any allergens will not be present in any of our deli counter products.)
