Rice Up is proud to be part of ‘Stir up’ – a local campaign by Fairer Christmas that promotes Fairtrade products this Christmas.
The campaign runs from 18-23rd Nov, and on 23rd November Rebecca Kinge who is running the campaign will be in Community Corner running a children’s workshop making Christmas decorations using fairtrade and sustainable materials (such as fairtrade cotton braiding and locally harvested willow twigs). We will be selling fairtrade cotton gift bags for Christmas gifts made by women who have been trafficked (i.e. who were previously trafficked but are now being helped to earn a decent living). We also have a lot of fairtrade products around the shop such as nuts, dried fruit, bananas, chocolate (including advent calendars and chocolate snowmen), tea, coffee, quinoa, flapjacks and cookies.
